..about this Octavia Nasr’s whole issue:

She shouldn’t have “apologized” or “explained” herself!

I’m 100% against what happened to her(she’s fired because of a personal tweet!),

but the fact that she “explained” and “regretted” what happened is simply ridiculous!

Eid in Lebanon

It’s known to the Lebanese themselves and any visitors that we (the Lebanese people) are party animals..we sure know how to party, no matter what the occasion is (sometimes there’s nothing to party about). It doesn’t bother me actually since I kind of like it . But what’s bothering me about the Lebanese People is how divided, secatrian and full of false patriotism we have become lately. Even with the only thing we’re good at…partying!

Last Sunday (First day of the Eid), we were simply starving at 11 PM. By chance, we went to” Dahab , Bchara El Khoury” (not the night club Gold, the restaurant version). We found out (by chance too) that there’s a “party” -of course-. Some guy on keyboards and another one who started to sing along with him. The guy was clearly drunk, but he was hilarious and did have a nice voice. The audience (us included) was happy and singing and dancing with him.

The performer started to sing patriotic songs -of course- and the audience got more excited -of course-. Not because they loved the great country of Lebanon, but because he started to change the song for each region (Jnoub, Baalbak, Shmall, Jabal, Beirut..etc). So in less than a minute, I knew where each group came from.

Not just that, I knew their political orientation as well..Yes dear reader, the “YEAAAAH” of the Lebanese Party Person comes along with hand gestures that might seem retarded to non Lebanese (even to me they are) where they declare which moron they support.

And to be sure on how divided we are, the singer decided to mention President Suleiman and the Army of course..they didn’t get much “support” but when he switched to the song of the Syrian series “Bab Alhara”(I swear he sang it) the whole audience went crazy!! I mean WTH people!!!!!

We claim we care about Lebanon but we don’t give a damn. We only party like hell!!

Book: God’s Debris*

A friend of mine sent me the book with this message in August 08:

Have an amazing time reading it, but I want you to do something for me!
Read upto page 44 at once (or at least in a two reading session period) and when you reach and finish upto page 44, sms me ur comments.
Ill reply with something depending on what you sms/how u feel about what you read!

I’ve read like he said. And the moment I read the last word at page 44 I turned off the computer and stared into nothing for a while. I can’t finish the book. I haven’t still processed the idea..hehehe..Oh and my reply to my friend’s message isn’t appropriate to display here ~blushes~

It’s a weird book. To me, I was reading my deepest thoughts about everything in life which I don’t dare to talk about even to myself. And page 44 was the thing that removed the dead end I had before to find many others ofcourse..

It’s a thought experiment just as the author mentioned in his very interesting introduction. It’s meant to be fun and you should think of it as if you’re training your brain for a while. The author made it clear that he doesn’t agree with the ideas and theories presented in the book.

 I haven’t finished the book yet. I might this weekend. So this blog post isn’t a book review (I don’t believe in reviews). I just want to share the experience with anyone who might read this. But I have to warn you, read about the book first and think well before deciding to read it. Because once you do, it will change the way you think and live forever, no matter what your beliefs are. And if you’re an extremely religious person or an extremely atheist one, do NOT read it.

What am I?

I can’t answer this question..I can’t find the category I fit in…I don’t know if it’s bad or not…Should I be like this or I’m just lost in this world…Is it my world or should I look for mine (if any) somewhere else…There are lots of life aspects I can’t fit in…But the only torturing two are Religion and Society!!

Religion
I’m not an atheist but I don’t see myself following ANY of the current religions…yes current…I don’t believe that today’s Islam is the true Islam, I don’t believe that today’s Christianity is the true Christianity, I don’t believe that todays Judaism is the true Judaism, I believe in Science AND Spirituality..to me, They’re ONE…I don’t trust any religious figures…I believe in God, The powerful supreme energy, Fate, Allah or whatever the term you use…I believe in the afterlife…I believe in Good and Evil…I believe that everyone should worship(or not) whoever s/he wants….I hate sectarianism…I believe that Morals came before Religion not the opposite…Religion just documented them…I believe that we have a very powerful brain and we should use it…and I believe that we make our own destinies..
Then what am I?

Society
Ours is very very very bad…We’re in desperate need for a pimp-my-society makeover project…I hate sexism…I hate ageism…I hate prejudice…I hate how it’s a masculine society…I hate how feminism is so wrong in here…I hate how our society is very shallow…I hate how it’s using globalisation wrongly…I hate how the most important issues that affects the society are only taboos…I hate how it’s trying to be like WORSE societies!! People should always try to be better no??
I want to help to make it better…but how??? People don’t listen..and I hate that!!! I know some people think the same way..but why do I still feel completely alone??

What am I??? I feel I’m right but lost, I feel I don’t fit in here but at the same time I can’t live anywhere else!!! Why??

I don’t know if I make sense or it’s just PMS…I didn’t plan this post…I’m just angry and wanted to let it out…By the way, I might quit my job tomorrow!!!
